Today a message suddenly popped up on my printer screen with the title "Missing or Failed Printhead" -- "The printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed Error code 0xc19a0023". I have followed the steps shown in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVGLCEWzbRA, except for opening the board on the back of the printhead (because I don't have a proper screwdriver for now). I also tried everything I could do for now from looking up different sources, like resetting the printer, restoring the printer, and checking for updates (it's already the newest version). I also tried scanning with the printer, it worked. So I guess it's not a printer issue. I will probably order the screwdriver and try to clean the printhead by myself, otherwise, I don't know what to do now. Also, my ink cartridges are low in volume, I'm not sure if that can be a cause for this error message, too, but I don't want to spend over $100 and still can't fix the problem. I wonder if someone else had this problem before and can give me some advice. Thanks!!

Commendable diagnosis, superb troubleshooting and splendid description of the issue before posting. Hats off to you on that score. 

 

The video has shared pretty much what is required to resolve the issue.

 

With HP we do not ask to customer's to remove the board on the printhead, you may try at your own risk as compared to trying a new cartridge.

 

Update the firmware on an HP printer


HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.
