If my color cartridge for Desk Jet Plus 4155 is missing, can I still print in BLACK ONLY mode that I selected in printing preferences? Or does the printer have to have both cartridges installed for the printer to work?

I understand that you want to print using single cartridge, I am glad to assist you.

Yes, you can print using single cartridge.

Use the single cartridge mode to operate the printer with only one cartridge. The single cartridge mode is initiated when one of the following occurs.

● There is only one cartridge installed in the carriage.

● A cartridge is removed from the carriage if there are two cartridges installed previously.
