Several weeks ago my HP 3550dn started pressing small dot impressions on one side on every printed page of the paper. No ink in the dots - just the physical impressions. There is a repeated pattern of dots...one is 3 dots in a tight triangular pattern - another is two dots in a line.
My guess it is some kind of track or something that moves the paper through the printer than has become damaged...?
Thanks in advance.

If the pattern repeats down the page then you can measure the distance between two and then refer to a repetitive defect chart to determine which component is causing the problem.

I don't quite understand the Interval Chart.
I did measure the total space between the dot impression patterns - and it occurs every 2 7/8" (75mm) - consistently down the one side long side of the letter-sized paper.
In my Internet reading - I believe my issue is called "Repeating Defects - Divots".
I did pull my Fuser Assembly out and looked at the reddish colored roller - it seemed intact and undamaged.

Hi...my repeative defect has now progressed - I now have - in addition to the repeating impressed divots w/o toner that run down the entire right side of the page - I now also have a faint black line running along the same right side of the printed page (next to the divots) - starting at the top - about 2 3/16" / 55mm from the right paper edge.
I changed out my HP Q6470A Black Toner Cartridge - but it did not effect the repeat defects.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
