I have not used my printer for a long time, and it seems the black cart has dried out/clogged and it won’t print black. The colour cart is good as I had one to change out. Can you send me a black instant ink cart, as I have tried unsuccessfully to clean it and its nearly empty anyhow
regards

Hi @hughwp,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Perform Printhead Cleaning
Use the printer's control panel to perform a printhead cleaning:
- From the printer control panel, navigate to Settings > Tools > Clean Printhead.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to clean the printhead. This may need to be done a few times to see improvement.
Manually Clean the Printhead
If the automatic cleaning does not work, you can manually clean the printhead:
- Turn on the printer and open the access door to access the cartridges.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before continuing.
- Remove the black ink cartridge and place it on a piece of paper with the nozzles facing up.
- Dampen a lint-free cloth with distilled water.
- Gently wipe the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge and the contacts inside the printer with the damp cloth.
- Allow the contacts to dry for 10 minutes before reinserting the cartridge.
Replace the Black Cartridge
If cleaning does not resolve the issue and the black cartridge is nearly empty, replacing it is the next step:
- Purchase a new black ink cartridge compatible with your HP DeskJet 3730 (HP 65 Black or HP 65XL Black).
- Open the cartridge access door, remove the old cartridge, and insert the new one.
- Follow the prompts on the printer screen to align the new cartridge.
Check HP Instant Ink Subscription
If you are subscribed to HP Instant Ink, you can manage your subscription and request a new cartridge:
- Log in to your HP Instant Ink account.
- Check your account status and request a replacement black ink cartridge if you have not automatically received one.
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the black ink printing issue on your HP DeskJet 3730.
I hope this helps.
