Example: hp 8600
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My hp 8600 has an error message that says I'm out of yellow jaune ink even though I replaced all the cartridges. The printer won't work at all until the low ink warning goes away.

@Papahorst, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand the printer is not detecting the new yellow ink cartridge. Make sure you are using HP ink cartridges.

Make sure the plastic tape if any, is removed from the new ink cartridge before placing it in the printer.

Make sure the ink cartridges are properly inserted in the printer, you may refer to - Replace HP inkjet printer cartridges

Note: Use HP ink cartridges.

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - Ink cartridge error

If the error persists, insert an alternate yellow ink cartridge if you have to check if the new one is defective. In this case, please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the replacement options for the ink cartridge.

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

If you get the same error for more than 2 different ink cartridges, I'm afraid the printhead has gone bad. I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
