My 9020 Jet Pro printer says there is a damaged or missing ink cartridge.  I've replaced all of the cartridges with new ones.  It has not solved the problem.  It says it may be a damaged printer head.   Is there support for this model? I can't find the 9020 model to order a new printer head.

Hi @KamiatMoxie

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 is experiencing a printhead issue, even after replacing the cartridges. This can happen if the printhead is damaged or not properly installed.

Here's how you can address this problem:

1. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Ensure all cartridges are securely installed in their slots.
  • Remove each cartridge, inspect for any protective tape or debris, and reinsert them firmly.

2. Clean the Printhead

  • If the printhead is removable, you can clean it manually:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
    • Open the cartridge access door and locate the printhead latch.
    • Remove the printhead and gently clean the electrical contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
    • Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.

3. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 2-3 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can clear temporary errors.

4. Replace the Printhead

  • If the printhead is damaged, it may need to be replaced. HP provides replacement printheads for the OfficeJet Pro 9020 series.
You can order a new printhead assembly from the HP Parts Store or contact HP phone support for assistance.

5. Update Printer Firmware

Let me know how these steps work for you or if you need further assistance! 🌟
