I tried using off-brand cartridges when the HP ones needed replacement. The printer wouldn't recognize them. I removed them and wanted to re-insert the original HP ones. But they simply won't insert into the carriage. They go in part way and then won't go any further. The same thing happens when I try to re-insert the off-brand ones.

Hi @BensMom1,
I'd like to help!
Let's try a power reset on the printer to resolve the issue-
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
- Check if there is anything blocking the ink cartridges.
Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
