My HP Office Jet Pro 8025 has stopped printing with blue ink.  I have checked ink levels and have followed the trouble shooting tips to resolve the issue but nothing had worked.  I’m very disappointed with the product as it is used for business purposes and the poor print quality leaves a bad impression.  I also bought a new cartridge but still no ink on any paper.  Cyan not working.   What can I do to fix ???

Hi @BigLIghtning ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 has an issue with the cyan ink not printing despite replacing the cartridge and following troubleshooting steps. Here's a comprehensive approach to address the issue:

1. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Ensure the cyan cartridge is installed correctly and securely.
  • Remove the cyan cartridge and inspect it for any protective tape or obstructions. If present, remove the tape.
  • Reinstall the cartridge firmly.

2. Perform a Printhead Cleaning

  • On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
  • Perform the cleaning process up to three times, as this can help clear minor clogs in the printhead.

3. Run a Print Quality Diagnostic Report

  • Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Report from the printer settings.
  • Look at the cyan sections to determine if they appear faint, streaked, or missing. This helps identify if the issue is with the printhead.

4. Manually Clean the Printhead

  • Power off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the printer to access the printhead. Remove the cartridges and place them on a clean, lint-free cloth.
  • Moisten a lint-free cloth with distilled water and gently clean the copper contacts and the nozzles of the cyan printhead.
  • Allow the components to dry for 10 minutes before reinstalling them.

5. Align the Printhead

  • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead to ensure proper alignment. Misalignment can cause issues with specific colors.

6. Reset the Printer

  • Power off the printer and unplug it for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve internal errors.

7. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware:
    • Download and install the HP Smart App.
    • Use it to check for and install any firmware updates.

8. Verify Cartridge Authenticity

  • Ensure you are using genuine HP cartridges. Counterfeit or incompatible cartridges can cause issues.

9. Inspect for Air in the Cartridge

  • Lightly tap the cyan cartridge on a hard surface to ensure ink flow. Sometimes, air bubbles can block the ink.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
