Hi @EJ7-6975,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

When your HP Officejet Pro 6975 abruptly stops printing, even with a new HP 902XL ink cartridge, there can be several potential reasons. Here are some steps to diagnose and resolve the issue:

1. Check the Basics

  • Ensure the printer is turned on and connected to your computer or network properly.
  • Make sure there are no error messages or blinking lights on the printer's control panel.

2. Check Ink Cartridges

  • Verify that the new HP 902XL ink cartridges are installed correctly.
    1. Open the ink cartridge access door and make sure the cartridges are seated properly.
    2. Ensure that the protective tape on the new cartridges has been removed.

3. Check for Paper Jams

  • Inspect the printer for any paper jams or obstructions.
    1. Open all doors and remove any paper that might be stuck inside.
    2. Check the paper tray and ensure it is loaded correctly.

4. Run Print Head Cleaning

  • Print head issues can cause printing problems.
    1. On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup or Settings.
    2. Navigate to Tools and select Clean Printhead.

5. Check Printer Status

  • Make sure the printer is not paused or offline.
    1. Go to Devices and Printers on your computer.
    2. Right-click on your HP Officejet Pro 6975 and ensure Use Printer Offline is not checked.
    3. If paused, select Resume Printing.

Kindly check the next set of steps in the next post.
