When I try and print multiple copies of a document, the initial page prints, then the printer just stops, eventually (several minutes) spitting out a blank page.  After that, nothing is appearing the queue.  This also occurs when I try and print just one copy of a multipage document- after the initial page prints, nothing for several minutes and then a blank page spits out.  This happens no matter if I am trying to print from my HP laptop, my iPhone, or my Dell computer.  Printer is connected via WiFi.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi @JoelME,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When encountering issues with your HP Smart Tank 7602, such as the printer stopping after printing the first page and then spitting out a blank page with nothing remaining in the queue, the following steps can help diagnose and possibly resolve these issues:

Check the Printer Driver and Status:

  • Ensure that the printer driver is installed correctly and is the latest version. Sometimes an outdated driver or software can cause operational issues.
  • Verify that the printer is set as the default printer on your devices. This ensures that jobs are sent directly to the correct printer.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord. Wait for about 60 seconds, plug it back in, and turn the printer back on. This can help reset the printer and resolve temporary glitches.

Clear Any Pending Jobs:

  • Check if any stuck print jobs in the queue could be causing the issue. Cancel any print jobs and try printing again.
  • For Windows PC: Open Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select your printer, and open the print queue to manage jobs.
  • For Mac: Enter System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and view the queue.

Print Alignment and Maintenance:

  • Perform a printhead cleaning and alignment from the printer's control panel or HP Smart app. Misaligned printheads can sometimes cause printing issues.

Use the HP App for Diagnostics:

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure that the printer's firmware is up to date. Firmware updates can correct known issues and improve the performance of your printer. Official HP® Support

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
