Hi @calico7691,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try the following trouble shooting steps:
Check Ink Levels
- Open HP Smart App or Printer Software on your PC.
- Check if the color ink cartridge is low or empty.
- If low, replace the cartridge with a new one.
Clean the Printhead
- On Printer Control Panel:
- Go to Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead.
- Follow on-screen instructions and print a test page.
Check Print Settings
Windows:
- Press Ctrl + P and open Print Properties.
- Ensure "Print in Grayscale" is OFF.
- Set Color Printing Mode to "Color" instead of "Black & White."
Mac:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and check color settings.
Align & Reset Printer
- On the printer, go to Setup > Tools > Align Printer.
- Turn off the printer, unplug it for 1-2 minutes, then turn it back on.
Manually Clean Cartridge Contacts
- Remove the color cartridge and wipe the copper contacts with a dry lint-free cloth.
- Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again.
Update Printer Firmware & Drivers
- Visit HP Support and update your printer drivers.
