AGAIN, I TALKED WITH SOMEONE TODAY THAT TOLD ME I COULD NO LONGER USE HP INSTANT INK BECAUSE I CANCELLED IT.

I THEM WENT TO OFFICEMAX AND PURCHASED NEW CARTRIDGES TO REPLACE THE HP INSTANT ONES.  UNFORTUNATELY, I AM STILL GETTING THE SAME MESSAGE ON THE PRINTER:  THE INDICATED CARTRIDGES CANNOT BE USED UNTIL PRINTER IS ENROLLED IN HP INSTANT INK.  WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO GET MY PRINTER TO PRINT WITHOUT SIGNING UP AGAIN FOR HP

INSTANT INK.   HELP PLEASE.

Hi @Annettezalner,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for contacting HP Support. We understand how frustrating it can be when your printer is not functioning as expected after purchasing standard cartridges.

The message you're seeing — "The indicated cartridges cannot be used until the printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink" — typically appears when Instant Ink subscription cartridges are still installed. These cartridges are linked to the Instant Ink service and will stop working once the subscription is cancelled, even if there is ink remaining.

To clarify and better assist you, please share a clear image of the ink cartridges currently installed in the printer, showing:

  • The labels and markings on top of the cartridges
  • The inside of the printer where they are installed (if possible)

This will help us determine whether:

  • The cartridges are still Instant Ink cartridges
  • The new cartridges are compatible and genuine HP standard cartridges

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
