My hp office jet pro 8024 doesn’t print blue. I’ve tried cleaning the printheads a few times now and unclogged the ink vent but still nothing.

Hi @User1222,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8024 is not printing blue even after cleaning the printheads and unclogging the ink vent, try the following steps.

Check the Ink Levels:

  • Ensure the blue (cyan) ink cartridge is not empty or low on ink. Replace it if necessary.

Print Quality Report:

  • Print a test page or quality diagnostic report to check the print quality. This can help identify if the issue is with the blue ink specifically.
  • On the printer control panel, go to the "Setup" menu, select "Reports," and then select "Print Quality Report."

Align the Printheads:

  • Misalignment can sometimes cause printing issues. Align the printheads through the printer's maintenance menu.
  • Go to the "Setup" menu, select "Printer Maintenance," and then select "Align Printhead."

Run Printhead Cleaning Tool:

  • Run the automated printhead cleaning tool from the printer software on your computer or from the printer control panel.
  • On the printer control panel, go to the "Setup" menu, select "Printer Maintenance," and then select "Clean Printhead."

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. Check for updates on the HP website or through the printer software on your computer.

Check the Cartridge:

  • Remove the cyan ink cartridge and inspect it for any physical damage or issues. Make sure the protective tape has been completely removed.
  • Reinsert the cartridge securely into the printer.

Print from Another Device:

  • Try printing from a different device (e.g., another computer, tablet, or smartphone) to rule out a software issue.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges:

  • Ensure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-HP cartridges can sometimes cause print quality issues.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, the problem might be with the printhead itself.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
