Hi @Stay-gold25,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Horizontal lines in printouts are often caused by issues with the printhead, ink cartridges, or software settings. Since you've already cleaned the printhead, checked alignment, and updated drivers, here are some additional troubleshooting steps to try.
Check Ink Levels
- Ensure that all ink cartridges have sufficient ink. Low or depleted ink can cause poor print quality.
Inspect Ink Cartridges
- Remove the cartridges and check for damage or leaks.
- Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
Perform a Deeper Cleaning
- Many HP printers have an option for a more thorough printhead cleaning via the printer software or control panel. Perform this cleaning to clear any clogs.
Use High-Quality Paper
- Ensure you are using the correct type and quality of paper for your printing job. Low-quality or damp paper can affect print quality.
Adjust Print Settings
- Check your print settings and ensure they are appropriate for the type of document you are printing.
- Use Best or Photo quality for high-quality prints.
- Disable Draft Mode if it’s enabled.
Test with a Different Document
- Try printing a different file to rule out the possibility of issues with the specific document.

Update Printer Firmware
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes firmware updates fix printing issues.
Check for Clogs or Air Bubbles
- Air bubbles in the ink delivery system can cause streaks or lines. Run a printhead purge from the printer settings.
Manually Align Printhead
- If the automatic alignment didn’t work, check your printer’s manual for instructions on manually aligning the printhead.
Run a Diagnostic Test
- Most HP printers allow you to print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page. Check the diagnostic patterns to identify any specific issues.
Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source for at least 1 minute, then plug it back in and restart.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
