Hi @just_money,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I'm sorry to hear about the trouble with your OfficeJet 3835—it must be frustrating to deal with clicking noises and inconsistent printing. Let's figure this out together.
- Are the clicking sounds constant or do they only occur during specific parts of the printing process?
- When the printer fails to print properly, do you notice missing lines, smudges, or faded areas?
- Have you recently replaced or reseated the ink cartridges, and are they genuine HP cartridges?
Let's try the steps below.
Check for Obstructions:
- Power off the printer and open it to check for paper jams or any debris inside the printer that could cause the clicking noise.
Inspect and Reseat Cartridges:
- Remove the cartridges and gently clean the electrical contacts with a lint-free cloth and distilled water.
- Reinstall the cartridges, ensuring they’re seated properly.
Run the Printer Diagnostic Tool:
- Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to identify and resolve any hardware or software-related issues.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on to see if the issue persists.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Visit the HP support site, download the latest firmware for your model, and install it to ensure compatibility and fix potential bugs.
You may also refer to this document for print quality issues.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
