The "Supply System Problem" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e when inserting a new 962XL cartridge typically indicates an issue with the cartridge, ink system, or printer recognition. Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.
Check Cartridge Authenticity
Ensure you are using a genuine HP 962XL cartridge.
- If you bought it from a third-party seller, check for counterfeit signs.
- You can verify authenticity using HP’s official website: HP Anti-Counterfeit.
Remove & Reinsert the Cartridge
- Turn on the printer.
- Open the ink cartridge access door.
- Remove the affected cartridge.
- Check for protective tape on the cartridge chip/nozzle and remove it if present.
- Reinsert the cartridge firmly until it clicks into place.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug it from the power source and wait 5 minutes.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check if the error persists.
Clean the Cartridge Contacts
- Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the gold-colored contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer.
- Let them dry completely before reinserting.
Update Printer Firmware
- Outdated firmware can cause ink recognition issues.
- Go to HP Support and download the latest firmware for your OfficeJet Pro 9015e:
- HP Software & Driver Downloads
- Install updates via HP Smart or HP Easy Start.
Reset the Printer to Factory Settings
- On the printer control panel, go to:
Settings → Printer Maintenance → Restore → Restore Factory Defaults - Confirm reset and set up the printer again.
Try a Different Cartridge
- If possible, test with another HP 962 or 962XL cartridge to see if the issue is with the cartridge itself.
