I have an HP OfficeJet 5252 Printer/Scanner/Fax that I literally found on the side of the road one day. I've spent the past few days trying to fix it up, and have almost completely repaired it (the problem appeared to be an ink cartridge leak I cleaned up to the best of my abilities). My only remaining problem is with the printing process. The colors Yellow and Magenta are flipped, so what's supposed to be Yellow prints with Magenta and vise-versa. In the Print Quality Diagnostic below, you can see that the Yellow and Magenta colors are wrong:

*I don't know if you can see the image or not. It's only showing a yellow triangle for me. The proper photo shows up while I'm editing.

I've tried to do whatever was suggested on the HP website. I tried updating the printer, using the printer doctor to make repairs, buying and using new ink cartridges (yes, they are name-brand), and using the printer's cartridge cleaning tool, but nothing can identify or fix the problem.

The only thing I haven't done is manually clean the printhead, but I'm not sure if it can be removed on this model.

 

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Have you tried replacing the Tri-Color cartridge? by reviewing the shown sample I believe a such happens due to refilling a cartridge incorrectly, I cannot think of any other reason to cause such behavior.

 

As the printhead is within the cartridge, I cannot see any such happen due to any printer failure, but only due to a problem with the specific Tri-Color cartridge.
