I just bought this printer and set it up just fine and the cartridges (2 only) printed out during the alignment in both black and color printing as did a test photo I printed, but when I go to print a WORD document, it prints ONLY in black and white. Plus there is no option to choose 'print in color' in the default settings, the only options given are for black & white. I can find no help from HP as all the help services are 'temporarily unavailable.' Any help would be appreciated. My operating system isn't even included in the HP options as it's the latest MacOS Sequoia 15.0.1.

Possibly a firmware update may help

See if you have 002.2439A dated Nov 11, 2024
You may need to remove the driver and then re-install.
