I have not been able to print in full color for about 2 months. Everything prints pink and yellow. this happened suddenly.
I am an instant ink subscriber, and Instant ink says levels are fine. I just now got message on the printer to replace CYAN(blue).
Still no blue print. I have run every diagnostic suggested. Yesterday a box popped up stating this model would not be supported with parts and ink. Does this mean printing color s just sops even though the ink is still available ?
Of course there was an upgrade now button to upgrade the printer.
Am I stuck with a non functioning color printer?

Hi @TL6065,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it is when your printer suddenly stops printing in full color. I’ll be happy to clarify and help you get the most from your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028.
From what you've described, your printer is printing only magenta and yellow, which strongly suggests that cyan (blue) ink is not being delivered, even if the printer recognizes the cartridge.
Let’s go through a few steps to try and solve the issue:
1. Run All 3 Levels of Printhead Cleaning
- On the printer:
Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead - Run the cleaning up to 3 times, waiting 30 minutes between cycles.
2. Manually Clean the Printhead
If you're comfortable:
- Remove the cartridges.
- Gently clean the printhead contacts with a lint-free cloth and distilled water.
- Let it dry and reinstall.
3. Check Instant Ink Status
- Go to the HP Instant Ink Dashboard
- Make sure your printer is:
- Online
- Enrolled
- Not blocked or retired
4. Update Firmware
- Download the latest firmware from HP:

This may fix ink delivery issues or remove service-related bugs.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
