Hi @Joanieparente,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP Envy printer. When you load new cartridges and the alignment page doesn't print correctly, there are a few possible causes and solutions you can try.

  • Check cartridge installation: Make sure that the new cartridges are correctly installed. Remove and reinsert them to ensure they are properly seated in their designated slots.
  • Remove protective tape or tabs: New cartridges usually come with protective tape or tabs that need to be removed before installation. Verify that you have removed any protective covering from the cartridges.
  • Check ink levels: Confirm that the cartridges have sufficient ink levels. Sometimes, cartridges may have low ink or be empty, which can cause alignment issues. Consider checking the ink levels through the printer software or control panel.
  • Perform a printer reset: Resetting the printer can help resolve various issues. Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord from the back, wait for about 60 seconds, and then reconnect the power cord. Turn the printer back on and see if the alignment page prints correctly.
  • Update printer firmware: Outdated firmware can lead to compatibility issues with new cartridges. Visit the HP support website and search for your printer model to check if any firmware updates are available. If updates are available, follow the instructions provided to update the firmware.
  • Clean cartridge contacts: Over time, the contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer may accumulate dust or debris, causing poor communication. Turn off the printer, remove the cartridges, and gently clean the electrical contacts on both the cartridges and the printer using a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water. Allow them to dry completely before reinserting the cartridges and testing alignment.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
