HP DeskJet 2652 All-in-One Printer

My hp2652 stopped printing  in color. I have new black and color ink cartridges. When I go to print a picture the print preview shows in color and as soon as I hit “print” the preview turns into a black and white picture on the print preview page.

Hi @YouOwnMe69,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the HP DeskJet 2652 All-in-One Printer is not printing in color, even though you have new ink cartridges, the issue could be related to the printer settings, driver, or software.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Printer Settings:

Default Print Settings:

  • Open the document or picture you want to print.
  • Go to File > Print.
  • In the print dialog box, select your printer (HP DeskJet 2652).
  • Click on Printer Properties or Preferences.
  • Ensure that the Print in Grayscale or Black & White option is unchecked.
  • Select Color under the color options, and make sure it's set to print in color.
  • Click OK to save these settings and try printing again.

Check Printer Defaults:

  • Open Control Panel on your computer.
  • Go to Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP DeskJet 2652 printer and select Printing Preferences.
  • Ensure that Print in Grayscale is not selected.
  • Set the color option to Color and save the settings.

2. Check Ink Levels:

  • Make sure the color cartridge is properly installed and has sufficient ink.
  • You can check the ink levels from the HP Smart app or by printing a test page from the printer settings.

3. Update or Reinstall Printer Driver:

Update Driver:

  • Go to the HP website and download the latest drivers for your HP DeskJet 2652.
  • Install the updated driver and restart your computer.

Reinstall Driver:

  • Uninstall the current driver from Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Reinstall the printer driver using the latest version from the HP website.

4. Check for Software Conflicts:

  • If you recently installed new software or updates, they might be conflicting with the printer. Try uninstalling any recent updates or software to see if the issue resolves.

5. Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Try printing a color document again.

6. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website. This tool can automatically diagnose and resolve many printing issues.

7. Test with Another Application:

  • Try printing from a different application (e.g., Word, Paint, or a PDF viewer) to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is specific to one application.

I hope this helps.
