I need help! I couldn't find the HP 63 ink for the longest time. I bought the HP 63 XL and it said not compatible. I bought two generic 63 it said not compatible. I finally found the regular HP 63 black and it says not compatible! I'm so frustrated and don't know what the problem is. I have 3 kids that need to print out homework and this is getting expensive.

@SarahKing, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand the new ink cartridge is not working.

  • Make sure you use HP ink cartridges. HP cannot guarantee the functionality of non-HP ink cartridges.

Make sure the ink cartridges are properly inserted in the printer, you may refer to - Replace HP inkjet printer cartridges

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - Ink cartridge error

If the error persists, please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the replacement options for the defective HP ink cartridge.

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
