Hi @VJG281,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e printer is not recognizing new HP cartridges, here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue.
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure the cartridges are installed correctly. Remove the cartridges and reinstall them, ensuring they snap securely into place.
Clean Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it. Remove the cartridges, then use a lint-free cloth or paper towel to gently clean the gold contacts on the cartridges and the corresponding contacts in the printer. This can help remove any debris or residue that may be interfering with communication.
Reset the Printer:
- With the printer powered on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn the printer on.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check for firmware updates for your printer. You can do this via the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP Support website. Updating the firmware can resolve communication issues with cartridges.
Check for Error Messages:
- If there are any error messages on the printer’s display, make note of them, as they can provide clues about what might be wrong.
Try Different Cartridges:
- If possible, test with another set of cartridges to see if the issue persists. If the printer recognizes a different set, the original cartridges may be faulty.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
