Hi @SedloCZ,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating this is, especially after replacing the toner and still seeing “empty” or “not recognized.” This usually points to either a chip recognition issue or a connection problem inside the printer. Let’s go through the troubleshooting steps:

Recommended Steps for “Toner Not Detected”

1. Power Reset

  • Turn the printer OFF.
  • Unplug the power cord for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn the printer ON.

2. Remove and Reseat Toner

  • Open the toner access door.
  • Remove the toner cartridge and check:
    • Is the protective sealing tape fully removed?
    • Are the gold contacts and chip clean?
  • Reinsert the toner firmly until it clicks.

3. Clean Electrical Contacts

  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Wipe the contacts on the toner and inside the printer.
  • Let dry for 10 minutes before reinserting.

4. Update Printer Firmware

5. Check Cartridge Authenticity

6. Run HP App

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
