@ArnoldCeron, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printer Ink Recognition Issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP printer is not recognizing a brand new original ink cartridge, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:
Check Compatibility: Ensure that the ink cartridge you are trying to install is compatible with your specific printer model. Refer to your printer's user manual or HP's official website to verify compatibility.
Inspect Cartridge and Printer:
- Cartridge: Make sure that the cartridge is clean and there is no protective tape left on the nozzle or contacts. Remove any tape if it's still attached.
- Printer: Check the printer’s cartridge slot for any debris or damage. Gently clean the cartridge contacts inside the printer using a lint-free cloth.
Reinstall the Cartridge:
- Turn off the printer.
- Remove the ink cartridge.
- Wait for about 10 seconds, then reinstall the cartridge. Ensure it is securely seated in the cartridge slot.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Sometimes, a firmware update can resolve compatibility issues. Visit the HP support website to see if there’s any available firmware update for your printer.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for approximately a minute before plugging it back in and turning it on.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
