Hi  @CR7Suii,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand your concern on how it can feel  when your printer seems to be using ink much faster than expected, don’t worry let me help you with this.

You can also refer to the link for HP inkjet printers - Ink Alert or Low on Ink message - Click here

Could you kindly confirm the below details :

  • The full HP printer model number (Link for steps - click here )
  • Whether you are using HP Original cartridges, Instant Ink, or third-party cartridges
  • Are you printing mostly documents, photos, or a mix of both?
  • How often do you print?
  • Are any colors running out faster than the others, or are all cartridges losing ink quickly?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :

  1. Check Print Quality Settings (Link for information - click here )
    • Open the print settings and make sure the printer is not set to Best or High Quality mode unless necessary.
    • For everyday documents, use Normal or Draft/EconoMode if available.
  2. Review Automatic Maintenance Cycles
    • Printers may consume ink during printhead cleaning and alignment procedures.
  3. Check Cartridge Health
    • Use the HP app or Embedded Web Server to review ink levels and cartridge status.
  4. Verify Page Coverage
    • Pages containing large images, graphics, or colored backgrounds can consume significantly more ink than standard text documents.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
