Hi @Tamnick1427,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When your HP printer displays the "Non-HP Chip Detected" error message, it indicates that the printer has detected a chip on the cartridge that may not be recognized as a genuine HP component. This often occurs due to dynamic security measures implemented in HP printers to ensure the use of genuine HP cartridges.

Steps to Resolve:

Replace Cartridge:

  • Ensure that you have installed a genuine HP cartridge. If your cartridge indeed came from HP but still shows this error, it might be a compatibility issue.

  • Try removing the cartridge and reinstalling it properly, ensuring it makes good contact with the printer.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes clear the error message.

Update Firmware:

  • Check for any available firmware updates from Official HP® Support for your printer model. HP releases updates that can sometimes address issues related to cartridge recognition.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
