HP OfficeJet 6950 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I own an HP OfficeJet 6950 I have had it a few years and it's been a brilliant printer.. best printer I've ever owned and not had any trouble with it until today.

The problem is it isn't printing properly. The colours seem okay from what I can gather but the black is just not printing at all. Some things will print in grey but its not supposed to be grey as its predominantly a thick black colour i.e. logos at the top of any letters but it is very faded when its not supposed to be. As for the text (the important bit) non existent. But I received a pdf document where there were some highlights in yellow, the yellow printed but not the words that are in black. Also the blue works as the weblinks are visible on the printed page.

I am pretty tech savvy but this problem I cannot seem to solve at all I spent the best part of 3 hours trying to fix it. I did a bit of Googling and I can't find anything of any use. I have never configured the settings to adjust the tone to reduce the amount of ink or anything like that. I have ran the tests on the printheads (clean, align, clean seamers etc..) and have done so several times. Because I wasn't getting anywhere , I resorted to restoring it back to factory settings and it still isn't printing properly. Before anyone asks there is ink in the printer a brand new cartridge as it did cross my mind that maybe it was empty. Although the printer said it was low and there was a little left, a sufficient amount to still print a decent few pages, but its with this new ink cartridge which I got today and those problems are still there.

I would really appreciate any help and advice to fix this as there are documents I need to print. I do have my Cannon printer thankfully but I use that for photographs so for now it's stepping in while my HP is having this hissy fit!

Many thanks,

Michael.
