HP ENVY Pro 6458 All-in-One Printer

I think my last option is to install a new printhead? How do I go about ordering one? Also my blank ink is still within expiration date, I believe I get a free replacement?

Hi @ATH529,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY Pro 6458 All-in-One Printer is still printing blank pages despite cleaning the printhead and updating the firmware, replacing the printhead could indeed be a viable option. However, before proceeding, you can try a few more troubleshooting steps to confirm if the printhead is the issue.

  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink. Sometimes, even a new cartridge can be faulty.
  • Perform a Hard Reset: Unplug the printer from the power source, wait for 30 seconds, and plug it back in. This can sometimes help resolve lingering issues.
  • Print a Printer Status Report: Check the printer's settings menu or use HP's diagnostic tools to print a report that may indicate if the printhead is clogged or damaged.
  • Check for Blockages: Inspect the printhead and ink nozzles for any visible blockages. Even after cleaning, sometimes a deeper cleaning (or manual cleaning with a lint-free cloth) can help.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
