HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

My HP Laser Jet Pro MFP M227fdn started printing blotches down the left side of each page when the ink started to go low.

I replaced the ink cartridge and tried inspecting for any ink powder i could see on the device and cleaned up what i could.

now the ink blotched are bigger and print down the right side of each page./  we took the printer apart and tried cleaning everything as best we could with the same issue.

can someone please advise what part i may need or action i could take to resolve the issue.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • 1) Does the copy print out the same way?
  • 2) What's the application you are trying to print from?
  • 3)Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Check the print settings for your print job in Windows.
  1. In the software application, you are trying to print from, click File, and then click Print.
    The Print window opens.
  2. Open the Properties dialog box.
Depending on the software application, the button might be Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences.
  3. Depending on your print job, you might consider modifying the following settings:
    • Paper Type: If you are printing on photo paper, select the type of photo paper you are attempting to print on.
    • Print Quality: If you are dissatisfied with the quality of your printouts, increase the print quality. To print more quickly, decrease the print quality. These options typically include Best, Normal, and Draft modes.
    • Paper Size: If you are printing on a different size of paper than you normally print on, select the correct paper size.
    • Black and White: If you want to print in black and white only, select the grayscale option.
  4. After selecting the print settings, click OK to apply the settings, and then click Print.
If changing print settings resolved the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
