Hi @WAHEEDAMAN

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Your HP DeskJet 4155e printer seems to be prompting you to subscribe to HP Instant Ink, but you wish to use your own ink cartridges instead. Here are steps to manage ink settings and use your own ink cartridges:

Step 1: Check Subscription Status

Open the HP Smart app on your device.

Navigate to the Instant Ink section to check if your printer is enrolled in the HP Instant Ink program.

Cancel the Instant Ink subscription if you want to use your own ink:

  • Log in to your HP Instant Ink account.
  • Go to Manage Account and select Billing & Plan.
  • Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts.

Step 2: Install Compatible HP Ink Cartridges

Make sure you are using compatible ink cartridges for the HP DeskJet 4155e printer:

  1. Purchase the correct ink cartridges:
    • For the HP DeskJet 4155e, use HP 67 ink cartridges (Black and Tri-color).
  2. Install the ink cartridges properly:
    • Open the ink cartridge access door.
    • Remove the old cartridges.
    • Insert the new HP 67 cartridges firmly into their respective slots.
    • Close the ink cartridge access door.

Step 3: Reset the Printer

Perform a hard reset of your printer to clear any cache or settings that may be preventing you from using your own ink:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  4. Wait for 60 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the power source and the printer.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Step 4: Update Printer Firmware

Keep the printer’s firmware updated to ensure it recognizes new cartridges:

  1. Visit the HP Support website.
  2. Enter your printer model to find firmware updates.
  3. Download and install any available firmware updates.

Step 5: Set Printer Preferences

Make sure the printer is set to use your own ink cartridges and not relying on subscription settings:

  1. Open the HP Smart app or printer software on your device.
  2. Go to Printer Settings.
  3. Check for any Instant Ink preferences and disable them.

Step 6: Printer Configuration

Ensure the printer is properly configured for data transfer via cable:

  1. Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable.
  2. Install the latest printer drivers from the HP Support website.
  3. Set your printer as the default printer in your computer's settings.
