HP Deskjet 4155
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Deskjet 4155 worked until my instant ink trial ran out. Now I can't get it to connect to wifi and I purchased new ink cartirdges but the printer keeps asking me for the setup cartridges. I actually happen to still have those, so when i put those in it doesn't recognize them. I spent an hour and a half on the phone with HP support to only be hung up on. My printer has worked for over a month, HELP!

@jgiez, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to print. Did you cancel the Instant Ink enrollment?

Once cancelled, you have to use regular HP ink cartridges. Instant Ink cartridges will not work.

If the printer is asking for the setup ink cartridges, we will have to perform an OOB reset to bypass it.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
