Hi, I had to change my mac in september, I had a macbook pro 2013 and it's now a macbook pro 14" 2023 (McOS Sonoma 14.1.2). Since then, my prints are colder whereas I haven't changed my printer or the inks.
It's really annoying cause I'm an illustrator and I sell my prints and it's also very frustrating cause I know my printer can do it since she did it well before.
I tried to add some yellow on photoshop and to adjust the saturation but it's not enough, it's still too violet and not orange enough, not warm enough.
So do you know any adjustment I could do on my printer and/or on my computer to fix this ? Thanks a lot

Hi @daphne2006 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Adjusting the color output on your printer and computer can help address the issue of prints appearing too cold. Here are some steps you can take:
Printer Settings:
Color Calibration:
- Check your printer settings for color calibration options. Some printers have built-in calibration tools that allow you to adjust color output.
Print Quality Settings:
- Ensure that you are using the appropriate print quality settings. Higher quality settings may provide more accurate color reproduction.
Color Profiles:
- Make sure you are using the correct color profile for your printer. You may find this information in the printer settings or documentation.
Computer Settings (MacOS):
Color Calibration:
- Calibrate your display to ensure accurate color representation on your screen. Go to "System Preferences" > "Displays" > "Color" and use the built-in Display Calibrator Assistant.
Printer Driver:
- Make sure you have the latest printer driver installed for your HP OfficeJet Pro 7740. Check the HP website for the latest driver updates.
Color Sync Utility:
- Open "Color Sync Utility" (you can find it in Applications > Utilities) and check if your printer profile is correctly set up. You can create a new profile or adjust existing ones.
Application Settings:
- When printing from applications like Photoshop, ensure that the color settings are appropriate. Look for color management options in the print dialog box.
Color Management in Photoshop:
Color Settings:
- In Photoshop, go to "Edit" > "Color Settings." Ensure that your working space is set to a color profile suitable for printing (e.g., Adobe RGB or sRGB).
Soft Proofing:
- Use the soft proofing feature in Photoshop to simulate how your image will look when printed. This can help you make adjustments to the colors before printing.
Test Prints:
Print Test Page:
- Print a test page with a variety of colors to evaluate the overall color accuracy. This can help you identify specific areas where adjustments are needed.
Color Chart:
- Consider printing a color chart and comparing it to the expected colors. This can be a useful reference for identifying any color shifts.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-

Hi Gaya,
Thanks a lot for your answer. It was really complete. I tried most of what you suggested as much as I could but unfortunately there is still a difference between my computer and my prints. There are also things I don't know like when you say "check if your printer profile is correctly set up" : I tried some changes but I don't know which one is truly correct. I'm still going to try some changes but if nothing really works I wonder if you know who I could call to directly come to my house and assist me to make everything perfect ? Cause I think not every computer scientist can deal with printers and colors ? I would be glad to have my problem finally and completely solved and I think all of this is beyond my abilities in computers ^^ For your information, I live in Paris in France.
Thank you in advance for your answer and have a really nice day 🙂
