PageWide Pro 477dw

Brand new sealed HP Pagewide Pro 477dw printer. Ink cartridges do not communicate with printer. I purchased this new in June 2024 from a company that bought 2 during covid and didn't use this one. I sold to my customer and when setup gave the error cartridges do not communicate with printer.  Is there a setting to change to enable them to work since new sealed. The ink warranty date is expired now 8/20 but again was a new sealed product. Also the printer serial number doesn't show up when type into HP field. Says non valid.  Why is this as it is a valid serial number on printer and box.
