I received the new cartridges and the printer is now working.  

BUT now windows 10, HP Smart & HP INSTANT INK do not recognize the printer exists??

@Jim_Ferraro, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

 

I see that you do not have setup ink cartridges that come with the printer. You may contact the store from where you bought this printer, or if you have regular ink cartridges, we can perform an OOB reset to bypass the use of setup ink cartridges.

 

You may also contact the HP Support team if you do not wish to perform a reset and require the setup inks.

Follow the instructions below to reach them:

 

1) Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device. 

4) Select the country from the drop-down. 

5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences. 

6) Fill out the webform and proceed further.

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes, you may use this link to find the phone number of the regional HP Support team: HP Phone Assist Worldwide

I am waiting for new cartridges from HP color arrived 1/26, I expect Black 1/28 (today)

I tried the OOBE to bypass the "request to use setup cartridges" but this did not appear to work.

I can't use my printer so HP iNSTANT-INK believes I am offline.

I plan on inserting the new cartridges when they all arrive.

I have been told this will solve my problem??

What is the error you get when you try printing?

Did you connect the printer wirelessly to the computer?

Try making a standalone copy from the flatbed glass and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

 

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

 

Have you checked your HP Instant Ink account page? Your Instant Ink account page will have notifications if there are any issues with the account or recent cartridge shipment, it will even provide solutions on how to fix the issue. You may log in to your HP Instant Ink account page from here.

 

If the suggested information can't be found, please send me a private message with your Instant Ink account details or you may also respond to the private message I've sent out and I'll help you out, accordingly. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

The solution (for me) was I contacted HP Support and they sent me a complete set of cartridges and I inserted them and the printer started working.  I also followed up with HP and corrected the wireless connection problem.
