OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an OfficeJet 8600 Pro printer which was purchased in the US and has always been used in the US. I bought a new set of ink tanks for it, but it says they are not compatible. After some research, I discovered the problem. The the last black ink tank that I used was intended for Asian markets, when it was installed in the printer, the printer was locked to region 10. The new ink tanks are intended for the US/Canada region, therefore the printer will not accept them because they don't match the printer's locked region. I need to reset the printer to the US region.

I have read about the regionalization process, and have gone through the process to "contact support" on the website, but since my printer is out of warranty, the site WILL NOT allow me to contact support. This is incredibly frustrating! Can someone please help?

Hi @Spocko,

I'd like to help!

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
