HP ENVY 5014 All-in-One Printer

Dear Team - I moved my HP Envy 5014 printer from USA to India and now trying to install the India-based cartridges in it, but getting an error as "Installed cartridges are not intended to use with this printer". The printer needs a regional reset to accept the new cartridges.

Kindly request you to send the regional reset instructions.

Thanks,
Kedar

Hi @Kedar_P,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand you moved, and the printer is not accepting the new region cartridges.

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello @Elohi_NR - I have sent the required information from HP Smart app about my printer three days back and still waiting for the region reset code. Can you please share ASAP ?

Thanks.

Hi @Kedar_P,

My apologies for the delay.

Thank you for providing me with the information. I really appreciate your efforts.

Please follow the steps below to complete the reset

1) Launch the printer software from the desktop icon or, from the Start menu, click Start, All Programs, HP, the Product Name, and then the Product Name again.

2) Double-click the Estimated Ink Levels icon in the printer software. The Estimated Ink Levels window opens.

3) Press and hold the CTRL and SHIFT keys, and then right-click anywhere in the Estimated Ink Levels window, except for a button. The Set New Region window opens.

4) If the Set New Region window fails to open, right-click to the right and left of the Estimated Ink Levels window.

5) On the set new region window where it says "Enter reset code provided by the support personnel" enter this number-

It should be like this:

Box 41- 1097

Box 42- 9350

Box 43- 8587

Box 44- 5123

Box 45- 5531

6) Once you enter the value you will get a 5-digit value below the code you have entered in box 51.

7) If the box 51 value is then click OK. 29453

😎 If it doesn't match, take a picture of the screen and send it to me.

9) Once you click OK, you should get a message "Device region reset succeeded".

Restart the printer, remove and reinstall the ink cartridges, and try printing.

If it fails, report back, do not try the reset multiple times as it may brick the device.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi @Elohi_NR - Can you please confirm if the shared code has any expiration timeline ? I am out of town now, so just wanted to check by when I should be able to use this code ?

Thanks,

Kedar

Hi @Kedar_P,

Well, Since we have already generated the codes. It is suggested to process the steps as soon as possible.

However, if you are unable to do it in 1 or 2 days, I recommend do not use the printer until the reset is successful.

Reset may reject in some printers. Let me know

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Hello @Elohi_NR - Thanks. Unfortunately, I won't be able to use the reset code until 20 May as I am out of town. Will I be able to use it after 20 May ? If not, will you be able to share new code if that does not work ?

Thanks

Hi @Kedar_P,

Cannot promise that, but we can try creating new codes then and see how it goes. Until do not use the printer.
