I refilled my HP Neverstop 1001nw a few months ago, but when I tried to print today it froze.
Checking the webUI, I was greeted with the message:
Status: | Ready Toner reload not completed. Please finish reload. |
It has been months since I refilled the toner, and I no longer have the cartridge. I tried inserting a new cart, but it won't let me load it.
How can I get my printer going again?
Thank you,
Peter

Hi @Berbec ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Neverstop Laser 1001nw is displaying the message "Toner reload not completed. Please finish reload," it suggests that the printer is not recognizing the new toner cartridge or there might be an issue with the toner reload process. Here are troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Ensure Correct Toner Cartridge:
- Make sure you are using a genuine and compatible toner cartridge for your HP Neverstop Laser 1001nw.
- Check that the cartridge is inserted correctly and securely.
Perform a Power Cycle:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for a few minutes and then plug it back in.
- Turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.
Check for Updates:
- Ensure that your printer firmware is up-to-date. Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and download and install any available firmware updates.
Reset the Printer:
- Perform a factory reset on the printer. Refer to your printer manual for instructions on how to reset your specific model.
Clean the Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove the toner cartridge.
- Wipe the contacts on both the cartridge and the printer with a clean, lint-free cloth.
- Reinsert the toner cartridge and turn on the printer.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Open the printer cover and check for any paper jams or obstructions that may be preventing the toner cartridge from being recognized.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
