I installed a new 206X HP black toner in my MFP M283cdw, and the printer continues to show "supplies are very low" and does not seem to acknowledge the new toner. Print quality in black remains poor. I have not replaced the M, C, or Y colors as I don't want to commit the money until I can get the black to work.
Here are some details...
** All the toner cartridges are an authentic HP products.
** I have power cycled the printer.
** I have made sure the firmware is up to date.
** I have disabled and enabled the printer's wireless connection.
** I have switched the printer from wireless to an Ethernet internet connection.
** I have inspected the toner cartridge for any tape or plastic limiting connection to the printer.
** Via the HPsmart app, I continue to see "cartridges very low" -- for black and for M, C, and Y.
** Under "printer Status" of the HPsmart app tells me that "toner is very low" and under "toner installed" is says "Your software can authenticate cartridges using an online service. However, access to the Internet is not possible right now." But as I mentioned above, the printer is connected to the internet via my network (I've tried wireless and Ethernet).
** I have printed test pages, calibration pages, cleaning pages.
I've been through these steps many times, and I don't see any changes in the acknowledgement of the new black toner.
I am looking for any additional tips here. Thank you.
