We just bought this 2800 hp printer and we change the cartridges and bought the original brand and it does not print. It says cartridge or account issue. We need help.

When your HP printer displays a "cartridge or account issue" message even after installing original HP cartridges, there are several steps you can take to resolve the problem:

Verify Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure the cartridges you purchased are compatible with your HP 2800 printer model. Incorrect cartridge types can lead to operational errors.

Reinstall the Cartridges:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Open the printer's cartridge access door and carefully remove the cartridges.
  • Inspect the cartridges and the slot for any protective tape or packaging material that may not have been removed.
  • Reinstall the cartridges, ensuring they are seated properly.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date, as this can resolve compatibility issues with the cartridges.
  • You can typically find firmware updates on the HP Support Website.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.

Check HP Instant Ink Account:

  • If you are using HP Instant Ink, ensure your account is active and there are no issues with your subscription or billing.
