@Too-tire, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you are experiencing issues with printhead installation on your HP Smart Tank 7005, follow these troubleshooting steps:

Verify Printhead Installation:

  • Make sure both printheads are properly seated in their respective slots.
  • Ensure the printhead latch is closed firmly.
  • Confirm you heard the "click" sound when installing the printheads.

Check for Obstructions:

  • Inspect the printhead area for any packaging material or obstructions.
  • Remove any orange plastic tape or plugs from the printheads.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 30 seconds and plug it back in.
  • Turn on the printer again.

Printhead Priming:

  • Ensure all ink tanks are filled above the minimum line.
  • Press and hold the Resume button for three seconds to start the ink priming process.
