New 981YC ink cartridges show up as "Incompatible magenta cartridge"

Good morning,

Two of the cartridges were showing as LOW. On e-Bay I bought genuine HP ink cartridges (981YC).

When installed a message appeared on the screen "Incompatible magenta cartridge" With that

cartridge installed the printer does not respond to print instructions. When the Low cartridge is

put back, the printer works normally.

Thought it might be a function of the Firmware (I was using FutureSmart Bundle version 5.1).

Tried the two earlier versions with the same result.

`I had purchased two different colors from separate e-Bay vendors. Both cartridges caused the

same result. Both vendors assure me that they had sold many of these cartridges without problems !!

An HP Pagewide Enterprise Color 556 printer uses HP 981A or 981X cartridges, HP 981YC cartridges are not intended for your printer model:

HP 981YC ink cartridges are intended for select HP Pagewide Managed printers, such as the HP PageWide Managed Color E55650 series for example:
