My HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer ran out of cyan/magenta ink. I opened a brand new box of HP brand 950XL and 951 3 color and 1 black cartridges.  I could not insert the new cyan ink cartridge into my printer because the plastic ridges are different.  Same is true for the black, yellow and blue cartridges in this box - none fit my printer slots.  This new box is identical to my previous box in all descriptions.  On the cartridge itself the model number is "CN051AN" and is a "z10" type on both the old cyan cartridge, that I took out of my printer, and the new cyan cartridge that now won’t pop in as it no longer fits.  The only difference is the old one says it was made in Singapore and the new one says it was made in Malaysia. I have not changed regions (I'm in the US) and the label says for use in the US and Canada on both cartridges.  Everything on the label is identical except for the country it was made in. I now have $150 worth of brand new ink cartridges that won't fit my printer.  I am afraid to buy any more HP cartridges if I can't trust the info on the box and be guaranteed the cartridges will fit my printer.  What's going on here? Please help.

HP had some issues with 953 ink cartridges, also the working one and non working one were made in differnet countries.

So are they offering an exchange or solution?  I don't know how to be certain that new cartridges will fit now aside from opening the boxes in the store and that's not even a guarantee.

If made in Singapore those will work fine.
