This question was asked before but not answered on public forum. I urgently need to know if there are any black and color ink cartridges that will fit in my old (circa 2012) Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. Am in the middle of projects and the new 950 and 950XL (black) cartridges I bought won’t fit into the printer. The new inset end has an extra block so it won’t fit into the printer. I’ve used HP cartridges for years and this is a new problem.
If this is just the way it is and I have to buy a new printer then someone please let me know. Otherwise if I’m missing something and there’s some way to make this cartridge fit or another ink cartridge one that will please clue me in. Thanks much.

@KLR12, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
HP 950 black and 951 color ink cartridges are compatible with this model printer(regular or XL). Make sure they are z10 ink cartridges. Only z10 will work in the US region.
For more info, refer to - z10, z20, z30, z40 on HP 950 and 951 Ink Cartridges
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have tried all suggestions AND even sent in a request for support for the two brand new 950XL cartridges I bought since they come with their own warranty. HP responded to ask for support via the forum or virtual assistant. What a joke! If I open the boxes, nobody will take them back, only exchange them. So now I will return them at get my @$100 back and buy a different brand of printer and spread the word to the GOV I work for, friends who own businesses, and anyone else that is looking for a printer to stay away from HP because they refuse to support their products when they make massive changes that break stuff that is no longer under warranty. They used to be the best in printers and I've always used them since I'm in the IT field, but never again. They changed the cartridge model number from CN045A to CN045AN with the exact same cartridge name of 950XL. "ANs" will not work and HP will not or cannot tell long time customers how to get them to work.
