Installed brand new HP 61XL cartridge purchased this week at Walmart (dated "Malaysia 2025)> Tried printing a dozen pages, absolutely failed to print anything. Tried all the fixes I found @ HP, still failed. Inserted old used HP 61 cartridge, printer worked (despite "Low Ink" warning). Obviously this cartridge is defective.

Hi @Daddyoh98684,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're having issues with a new HP 61XL cartridge in your HP Officejet 4632 printer. If you've already tried the troubleshooting steps provided by HP and the problem persists, here are a few additional suggestions.
- Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the new HP 61XL cartridge is compatible with your HP Officejet 4632 printer. You can verify this information in the printer's user manual or on the official HP website.
- Clean Cartridge Contacts: Turn off the printer and carefully remove the new cartridge. Wipe the electrical contacts on the cartridge with a clean, lint-free cloth. Also, clean the contacts inside the printer where the cartridge is inserted. Make sure not to touch the nozzles or copper-colored contacts.
- Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Plug it back in, turn it on, and then reinsert the new cartridge. This can sometimes help in resolving communication issues.
- Firmware Update: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. Updating the firmware can address compatibility issues and improve overall performance.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's likely that the new cartridge is defective. You may want to return it to the place of purchase (Walmart) and exchange it for a replacement. Make sure to bring your receipt and explain the situation to the store staff.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
