I just purchased ink cartridges 910 yesterday 1/31/2025 ($97) and installed them. First I couldn't get any color to print, then we got all colors to print except for magenta, now it says low ink. I have tried every trouble shooting suggestion given. I don't know what else I to do. Someone Help!

@Shelliss, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer showing low ink!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the low ink and magenta issues:
Check the Cartridge Installation:
- Remove the cartridges and reinstall them, ensuring they are seated correctly in their respective slots.
- Double-check that the protective tape was fully removed from the cartridges before installation.
Clean the Printhead:
- Printhead clogs can cause printing issues like missing colors. Use the printer’s cleaning function to clean the printhead. You can usually find this option in the printer settings or control panel.
- If cleaning through the printer’s software doesn’t work, you can manually clean the printhead with a lint-free cloth dampened with water (make sure the printer is off and unplugged before doing this).
Align the Printer:
- Sometimes, poor alignment can cause color printing issues. Check your printer settings for an alignment option and run it.
Check Ink Levels:
- Even if the cartridges are new, there could be an issue with the ink detection system. Go into the printer settings on your computer or the printer’s display panel to check the ink levels. If they still show low, try running a test print to see if any of the colors are truly not printing.
Reset the Printer:
- Unplug the printer for about 5 minutes, then plug it back in. This can sometimes reset the ink cartridge sensor.
Use Printer Software for Diagnostic:
- Check for any firmware or software updates for the printer, as these can sometimes resolve printing and ink detection issues.
Replace the Magenta Cartridge:
- It’s possible that the magenta cartridge is defective. Even though the cartridge is new, consider swapping it out with a new one to see if that resolves the issue.
Let me know if you need more assistance!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
