My previous ink cartidge (62) showed it was half full. But stopped printing magenta. yellow and cyan printed okay. Black cartridge prints fine. I had an extra new color, so I installed it as I needed full colord. First print--a little cyan, no magenta, and normal yellow. So I tested it by copying something in color. It only copied yellow and black. I did a cartridge clean--only black and yellow. I did all three rounds, and still only black and yellow. So I did the trick of cleaning the cartridge, then holding it gently against a paper towel for 2 minutes--it left behind yellow and cyan (no magenta). But when installed, it still only printed yellow.

Any ideas? Have I just ended up with two faulty cartridges? Both without magenta?

@FarmFreshLisa, Welcome to HP Support Community!

This could be an issue with the printer ink system or the ink cartridges.

If you have already performed the steps from the document No black ink, wrong colors, other print quality issues, and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
