Hi, I have recently aquired a HP Officejet 6500A Plus printer. Removed the old printer cartridges as were old. I purchased 2 x lots of the 4 ink print cartridges applicable for this printer... but now looks that the printer will only accept original HP inks, is this correct? Surely there is a simple fix to this issue, as HP's reputation would be considered to be not professional.
I have looked online for answers but to no avail. There are suggestions to go into the Printer settings and disable the HP cartridge protection... but I sadly do not have this option? Also a suggestion to go via the Printer's Settings via the control panel to also disable/switch off but again I do not have this option???
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you for your time and effort in replying to my message. Sadly, this does not work... I have tried all recommended steps but most of them are not available to me. I have now spoken with my ink supplier and they are confused as to why HP want to stop a cheaper ink cartridge capable product to an out or warranty printer/product. I will be sending all ink cartridges back and now looking to buy a NEW printer but sadly after these issues, it will not be HP. I only hope that I don't incur issues and problems now with my HP laptop???
