Hi @11CW56, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A white line running from top to bottom of the page after replacing the toner cartridge in your HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3101fdw printer suggests a possible issue with the toner cartridge, drum unit, or fuser. Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve it:
Check the Toner Cartridge
Since you recently replaced the toner:
- Remove the toner cartridge (HP 138X).
- Shake it gently side to side to redistribute the toner evenly.
- Inspect the cartridge for damage or leaks. If the drum (green or blue roller) has visible scratches or marks, the cartridge may be defective.
- Reinstall the cartridge and try printing again.
Print a Supplies Status Page
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Reports > Supplies Status and print the report.
- Check the toner level and if there are any reported issues with the cartridge.
Inspect the Drum Unit (if separate from the toner)
If your printer uses a separate drum unit, check for any debris, toner buildup, or scratches. If it's defective, replacing it might be necessary.
Clean the Printer Internals
- Open the printer and check for toner residue or paper debris.
- Use a dry lint-free cloth to gently wipe the toner roller and laser scanner area.
Perform a Cleaning Cycle
- Go to the Printer’s Control Panel
- Navigate to Setup > Service > Cleaning Page
- This will clean internal components.
Try a Different Toner Cartridge
If the issue persists, the new toner cartridge might be defective.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
