HP Envy photo 7155
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This printer (Envy 7155) seemed broken straight out of the box. Couldn't even finish the basic set up for over 2 hours because of an ink carriage error that had no obvious cause. After the umpteenth time of turning it on and off again, and taking the ink cartridges in and out it finally worked for whatever reason.

But after less than 10 photos its quit printing yellow and cyan completely and reads that the color cartridge is low. But its a brand new cart, its all brand new. Tried changing printer settings, tried reseeding the cartridge, tried cleaning (carefully and according to instructions) if there was a clog. And blue ink came off on the q tip, so its there but not utilizing it. And now the printer reads it as a used/counterfeit cartridge, which its not. Its not an old cart, it cant have dried out unless it was in faulty packaging in the first place.

Since we had such trouble with the ink carriage in set up could the whole printer just be faulty and causing it to miss read the cartridges completely?  We haven't been able to find close enough problems via searches to trouble shoot. Only lots of people accusing HP of deliberately selling faulty and/or low ink carts at full price. Which doesn't instill me with loads of confidence.

well we found what looks like green slime pooling under where the carriage rests after enough attempts and print tests. We're just returning it.
